Jen and Matt had their Tipi field wedding on the fields of Holmbury St Mary Cricket Club in the heart of the Surrey Hills. This was not your ordinary cricket club, the scene was utterly charming, a picture postcard ground like something out of Downton Abbey. Completely enclosed by mature woodland, there was only green as far as the eye could see.
Jen and Matt are a really calm, laid back couple and their day totally reflected their personalities. They had been together for many many years so this day had been a long time coming for the couple and their family and friends. The morning began at Jen’s parents house where the hair and make-up was all very low key and relaxed. Jen was taking it all in her stride, smiling away as people fluttered around her. With everyone ready on time it was time to take the short drive to the church. The ceremony was held at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Holmbury St Mary. A picturesque village nestled in a valley on the eastern slopes of Holmbury Hill, one of Surrey’s prettiest villages. Waiting inside the church was the groom Matt looking calm and collected as he welcomed the guests into the church. Jen arrived full of smiles which continued throughout her walk down the aisle on her father’s arm to her soon to be husband. With shinning new rings on their fingers they gathered outside the church after the ceremony taking in the stunning views of hills in the warmth of the spring sun. Onto the reception where the wonderful orange tipi stood tall against the field of green. As the guests enjoyed drinks and canapés in sun Jen and Matt casually walked around chatting to everyone. Everything was super chilled, no stress, just enjoying the fabulous day.
Jen and Matt had been particularly apprehensive about the couple portraits and I knew they didn’t want to focus on this part of the day too heavily. I think every couple feels nervous about the photos but I always say it will feel totally different on your wedding day. It’s a day like no other and you’ll be surprised how comfortable you do actually feel when the moment comes. And this was absolutely the case for Jen and Matt, they were so natural and relaxed with each other it was easy to get great shots of them.
With the reception in full swing it was time for the party to being with the band banging out the music to get everyone up on their feet dancing. I had a wonderful day with Jen and Matt at their tipi field wedding. It was super relaxed, festival fun for all the family, huge congratulations to Jen & Matt xx
