Sarah and Adam’s Wotton House Wedding was utterly fantastic from start to finish. Wotton House is a stunning country estate hotel in the heart of Surrey near Dorking. The mansion house has a rich history dating back to the 16th century, but it’s most remarkable feature has to be the Grade II listed Italian Gardens. These awe-inspiring gardens were the first Italian gardens in England, completed in 1652, adorned with Roman temples and original mosaics. This unique setting is unlike any other and is a photographers dream! Inside boasts The Old Library, a romantic setting for an indoor ceremony with it’s grand vaulted ceilings, pillars and centuries-old original fireplace.
The whole day was held at the hotel and my first stop was to see Sarah and her bridesmaids getting ready for the big day ahead. The room was filled with kimono clad ladies and lots of laughter as the excitement of Sarah’s special day took hold. I love the joy of bridal prep, the elation is tangible and in amongst the chaos a fairytale is evolving. Sarah’s bridesmaids were doing a wonderful job around her, making sure everything was in place for the day. Leaving Sarah to compose herself and relax while hair and makeup did their thing. Her lace detailed dress was so elegant and suited her perfectly, she looked utterly gorgeous.
The Old Library looked majestic dressed with a purple hue and pink blossom. Here the groom Adam was chatting and welcoming the guests. He was really relaxed and having a great laugh with his groomsmen. The bridesmaids entered carrying lanterns glowing with fairy lights which was something I’d not seen before and went with the aura of the room. Paving way for the grand entrance of the bride on her father’s arm smiling up the aisle as she greeted her groom. The ceremony was heartfelt and also quite humorous in places which is exactly how it should be, a celebration of love and happiness.
After the ceremony we headed out to do the photos in the sensational Italian Gardens. It was like being transported across the continent and back in time. Sarah and Adam were both really relaxed, they were so natural together and looked perfect against the picturesque backdrop.
Onto the wedding breakfast which was held in the Evelyn Suite. The speeches were hilarious and had everyone laughing and crying in all the right places. And the evening got into full party mode as they looked set to dance the night away.
I had a wonderful time photographing this fabulous Wotton House Wedding. Hugh congratulation to Sarah and Adam xx
