Why Bury Court Barn is Perfect for Wedding Photography
One of the things I love most about Bury Court Barn is how effortlessly photogenic it is. The venue strikes that perfect balance between elegant and relaxed, which allows couples to truly enjoy their day while I capture genuine, natural moments as they unfold.
The barn itself is full of character, with exposed beams, warm textures, and gorgeous light that creates a romantic backdrop for both ceremonies and receptions. It’s a space that feels intimate while still being large enough for big celebrations.
Outside, the venue offers stunning grounds that change beautifully with the seasons. Whether it’s spring blossoms, summer greenery, autumn tones, or cosy winter light, there are always gorgeous locations for portraits.

My photography style is natural, relaxed, and storytelling-focused. I believe the best wedding photos happen when couples feel comfortable and can truly be themselves.
Bury Court Barn is ideal for this approach because the flow of the venue allows the day to unfold naturally. Guests can move easily between the indoor and outdoor spaces, creating plenty of opportunities for candid moments — laughter during drinks in the garden, emotional speeches in the barn, and those little in-between moments that couples often miss on the day.
Because I know the venue so well, I can anticipate the best times and locations for photos while keeping everything relaxed and unobtrusive.
The Magic of Golden Hour
One of my favourite moments to photograph at Bury Court Barn is golden hour.
As the sun begins to set, the light across the grounds becomes beautifully soft and warm. I usually suggest slipping away for just 10 minutes with the couple during this time — it’s often the most peaceful moment of the entire day and creates some truly magical images.
The surrounding gardens and open spaces provide the perfect backdrop for romantic, natural portraits without feeling staged.
