Megan and Paul’s Millbridge Court wedding was up there with the best. It was filled with love and laughter from start to finish, it was everything you would want and more!
My day started with a quick visit to the groom Paul at the nearby Bel and The Dragon where they were enjoying a beer or two at the bar. After a few chinks of the glass I whizzed off the the venue where the bride Megan and here team of bridemaids/men were getting ready.
The venue
Millbridge Court is a a superb wedding venue nestled in the Surrey countryside. The beautifully restored 19th century house offers a huge contemporary space with two gorgeous, light filled barns to host the ceremony and wedding breakfast. Along with a fully equipped bridal room, guest bedrooms, hideaway private cabin for the happy couple, drinks terrace and picture perfect gardens. Civil ceremonies can take place under the oak Arbour in the gardens or inside in the high-vaulted hall.
The loft at Millbridge court is the perfect bridal squad getting ready space with salon style hair & make-up stations, plush chairs, full length mirrors and a secret one-way window to sneak peak the guests arriving down below. They were a lively bunch and that’s exactly how I like it, the room was full of excitement for the day ahead. The bride Megan looked absolutely stunning in her elegant off the shoulder dress and her hair was incredible donned with flowers she looked like a something out of a fairytale. The reaction from her squad at first look was priceless!
The ceremony
Downstairs guests were getting seated in the hall. A light and airy room with floor to ceiling windows and rustic wooden beams. There waited the nervous groom Paul feeling the emotion of what was about to happen. But all the nerves drifted away as the beautiful Megan walked up the aisle on her father’s arm and they saw each other for the first time. The ceremony was joyous and you could feel the love in the room for this happy couple.
The reception
With the important documents signed it was time for the celebrations to begin, and finally the rain stopped allowing the guests to get outside enjoy the terrace and beautiful gardens at Millbridge Court. While the guests were being seated for the wedding breakfast it was time for the all important couple portraits. The house is is surrounded by lush green fields and a wild flower meadow, which provided a picturesque backdrop. They especially wanted photos in the hidden fern garden as they had themed their wedding on secret garden and what a fantastic little spot it was.
The wedding breakfast & Speeches
The wedding breakfast room was dressed in keeping with their secret garden theme that suited the hall perfectly. All fed and watered and it was onto the speeches which were absolutely hilarious and had everyone laughing and crying in all the right places. The warm summers evening invited everyone back outside for a confetti throw and some more photos of the couple under the arbour in the setting sun. Then it was party time, kicked off with a energetic first dance performance that got everyone up on the floor.
Kind Words from Megan & Paul –
A day of pure happiness from start to finish and beautifully captured by Lynsey. Every picture is a reminder of our wonderful day and how very lucky we truly are. Our wedding album is a perfect story book of the day, I cannot recommend Lynsey enough! Xx
